The Gamla Uppsala Trail takes you more than 10 km from the city and out into nature. Treck up the ancient ridge and come down near the Royal Mounds. If you dare you can go all the way over to the swamp which, according to legend, is the home to a great blood-sucking monster. The trail follows the established paths for the most part but it also takes you onto a few roads and footbridges.

This is a reconstruction of the Herbationes Upsalienses built by Linnaeus, which in some areas has had to be adapted to the changes in the city. Click here to see where, we believe, the old path went.
